Which version?

First, let’s make sure that you’re using the mail client program Windows Live Mail, and not the mail service known as Windows Live Hotmail. These pictures show the difference visible in the top left-hand corner of the window when I open my Inbox:

     

If you don’t see something like the right-hand picture, you’re in the wrong place and the articles at this site don’t apply to you.

To find your program version, in WLMail press Alt-H A. If that does not show you the build number, press Escape twice and then Alt F B.

To find your operating system, press Windows key + R, type winver into the box and press Enter.

To find your version of Internet Explorer, open IE and press Alt-H A.
